Washington Mountain Biking & Fire Lookout Elopement

Imagine saying your vows 41 feet above the ground in a fire lookout built in 1966 in the middle of the Washington wilderness. That’s exactly what E+P did to celebrate their elopement day! Not only did they choose this unique location for their ceremony, they also kicked off their wedding weekend with a mountain biking session at one of their favorite trail systems nearby.

E+P wanted an intimate, unique ceremony for their elopement day. They chose to elope with their immediate family at an area they visit frequently for mountain biking day trips, and rented out this renovated fire lookout at the top of the mountain for their ceremony. They even slept inside to kick off their honeymoon weekend!

Getting Ready At the Lookout

E got ready at the top of the fire lookout as her mom helped her into her dress, and P put on his suit inside their van (a.k.a. their home away from home). The day was chilly and slightly windy, but every so often the clouds opened to reveal the vast wilderness of trees and valleys below.

Intimate Ceremony with Family

Their close friend and fellow mountain biker officiated as their family members watched. Afterwards, they celebrated by sharing stories of their most memorable adventures together over cake and champagne. E’s mom brought them the cutest little gift basket with champagne, flutes, warm socks for their overnight stay in the lookout, and other goodies.

Celebration & Mountain Biking

Their family headed out for the afternoon, and E slipped on her favorite boots as they ventured out into the cloudy weather at 4,000ft. They spent a few moments exploring around the fire lookout and enjoying their just-married glow. Then E+P changed into their mountain biking gear, and headed out for some sends!
